LEAF Pocket Guide is the 1st app offered by Londo Bell Enterprise. Built specifically for the Nissan LEAF 100% electric vehicle, it provides info which Nissan should have done in this digital age - what to do during an emergency situation, where is the location of <something> and whether is it ok to do <something>, as an app. It is a quick guide, so that you don't have to browse and search through the 6 booklets included in the manual package.
As an owner of a 2011 and a 2014 Nissan LEAF, I simply used the vehicle like an appliance - something that most of "us" actually treat our daily commute nowadays. There are a lot of features that I have never used in the 2011 (and 2014), and I just really don't care about those (hence no interest in exploring them through thousands of pages in the manuals). My wife is now the main driver on the 2014 LEAF, and she has started asking me many questions. In fact, she didn't even know what to do in case if she has a flat tyre (she knows now that I've explained to her)! THAT, is the reason I decided to work on the Pocket Guide LEAF app. Not only does the app has instruction on what to do (and what NOT to do) during a minor emergency, it also has info on maintenance, interesting tidbits, some technical info that you DO care (e.g. iDevices compatibility - and you are going to be disappointed!), and Carwings info.
Speaking of DIY maintenance, LEAF Pocket Guide is color coded (for the DIY section) so that you know what you CAN do, and what you should bring your LEAF to the professionals (i.e. dealership). Again, this app is target for those who don't want to get dirty, so for those who change the micro filter by yourselves, our response will be, "wow, how can you do that?”
Another feature* of LEAF Pocket Guide is the ability to call Nissan 24 hours Road Side Assistance directly from the app. Your LEAF is actually covered for this for 36 months, for pretty much all purpose (even in a collision situation), so use it, instead of, say, fixing a flat tire by yourself. Oh, and don't do that, because…(purchase the app to find out why you shouldn't “repair”the tires by yourself!).
If you ever have to read through the Nissan Quick Reference Guide (booklet from Nissan), you will see that it doesn't provide much info that is relevant to drivers of today. Almost all of the useful info is from the thick Owner's manual, which I've included as part of the app itself (require internet connection).
Finally, LEAF Pocket Guide is good for MY2011, 2012 and 2013 LEAFs too, as changes are minimal among the 4 model years. It is an universal app for iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad, requires iOS 7.1, and is built in 64 bit. The app is optimized for iPhone 5/5S.
Now you've the ABCs for the LEAF. Enjoy the ride :)
